Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth and profitability objectives.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to create and refine long-term business plans.
  • Drive financial innovation to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.

2. Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Supervise cash flow management, investments, and the company’s capital structure.

3. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations, industry standards, and internal controls.
  • Identify, monitor, and manage financial risks proactively.

4. Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to align with business objectives.
  • Utilize financial modeling tools to project future performance and assess investment opportunities.

5. Stakeholder Relations:

  • Maintain and enhance relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an advanced degree is highly preferred.

Professional Certifications:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or equivalent professional certifications.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in the shipping industry or related sectors is strongly preferred.

Technical and Leadership Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
