Majan is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director – Cost Management to join our dynamic team, supporting our growing operations in Muscat and Riyadh. This leadership role involves spearheading cost management initiatives, ensuring project efficiency, and providing strategic guidance to teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management Leadership
- Oversee cost management activities across multiple high-profile projects in Muscat and Riyadh.
- Develop and implement cost strategies that optimize resource allocation and achieve financial targets.
- Lead value engineering exercises to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Establish and maintain comprehensive project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Identify potential cost overruns and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Ensure alignment of project financials with organizational objectives.
- Cost Control and Reporting
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Produce detailed cost reports for senior management and stakeholders, including variance analysis.
- Implement robust cost control systems to track and manage expenses.
- Procurement and Contract Management
- Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to secure optimal pricing and terms.
- Review and approve contracts to ensure compliance with project and organizational goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure deliverables are met within agreed budgets.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor cost management teams in Oman and Saudi Arabia, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
- Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation within the team.
- Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding cost management issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their requirements are met.
- Provide expert advice on cost-related matters to enhance client satisfaction.
- Market Analysis and Strategy
- Analyze regional market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Contribute to business development efforts by preparing cost estimates for potential projects.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and recommend innovative cost management practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, FRICS, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in cost management, with a strong focus on large-scale projects.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects in diverse industries.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Advanced knowledge of cost control, financial planning, and procurement processes.
