Job Description: Assistant Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis

Location: Mumbai
CTC: As per Industry Standards
Industry: Consumer Durables / Insurance

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Modeling and Analysis

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for budgets, projections, and forecasts.
  • Perform scenario analysis and assess financial impact on business outcomes.
  • Support decision-making with robust data-driven insights.

2. Variance Analysis and Improvement Identification

  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actuals vs. budget and identify deviations.
  • Research and provide explanations for variances, ensuring timely escalation of significant issues.
  • Proactively recommend improvement opportunities to optimize financial performance.

3. KPI Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business health.
  • Provide actionable insights by analyzing trends and deviations in KPIs.
  • Collaborate with teams to improve metric performance where needed.

4. Investor Relations and Reporting

  • Prepare and present board decks and investor-related documentation.
  • Handle routine investor queries and ensure prompt, accurate responses.
  • Assist with the creation of reports tailored for stakeholders, focusing on strategic insights.

5. Due Diligence

  • Assist in due diligence processes during M&A or financing activities.
  • Gather, analyze, and present financial data to support due diligence efforts.

6. Business Finance

  • Gain a deep understanding of business metrics and key drivers.
  • Track each element of the business’s financial and operational performance.
  • Support cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business strategies.

7. Project Management

  • Lead and manage financial projects to drive organizational efficiency.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Develop project roadmaps, track milestones, and mitigate risks proactively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields (MBA/CA preferred).

Experience

  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
  • Familiarity with consumer durables or insurance industry practices is a plus.
  • Experience in due diligence and business finance is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in financial modeling tools and ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and tools.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
