Job Opportunity: GL Section Head
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA/CMA is preferred).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management:
- Oversee and manage all activities related to the general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure all journal entries are posted and reconciliations are completed on time.
- Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain documentation for accounting procedures and controls.
- Train and support team members on accounting processes and best practices.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial analysis reports to senior management.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the GL accounting team, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for team members.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
