Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical M&A Analyst to join our dynamic team in London. The ideal candidate will have experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly within the paper and packaging sector, and will be responsible for supporting the execution of transactions, financial modeling, and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Transaction Execution: Assist in the execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions within the paper and packaging sector.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and review financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, leveraged buyout (LBO) models, and relative valuation techniques.
- Valuation Analysis: Conduct valuations of target companies using various methodologies and present findings to the project team, clients, and prospective clients.
- Market Analysis: Analyze industry and sector trends, perform commercial analysis of individual businesses, and review case studies of past transactions.
- Documentation Preparation: Draft and review marketing materials, information memorandums, management presentations, strategic review papers, and valuation reports.
- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, including senior management and finance directors, to gather information, present findings, and address client concerns.
- Project Management: Support Vice Presidents and Managing Directors in managing transaction processes, ensuring projects run smoothly and addressing potential issues in a timely manner.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to junior analysts and interns, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, preferably within the paper and packaging sector.
- Skills: Strong financial modeling skills, particularly in DCF and LBO models; excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and Word proficiency; strong valuation and analytical skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized, reliable, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
