About Company

The International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) is a charge paid by many international visitors travelling to New Zealand. It contributes towards tourism infrastructure and conservation work that supports the country’s natural environment and visitor facilities. Where applicable, the IVL is normally collected as part of the NZeTA or visa application process. The levy is separate from your flight, accommodation and other holiday expenses, so it is worth including it when planning your travel budget. Not every traveller is required to pay the IVL, and exemptions can apply depending on nationality, visa type and travel circumstances. Before applying, check the latest official guidance to understand whether the levy applies to your particular trip.
