Job Description: Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE
Salary Range: AED 6,000 – AED 8,000 (negotiable for exceptional candidates)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to join our dynamic team in Dubai. This role involves managing vendor payments, reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable process. Candidates outside the UAE are also welcome to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable Management:
    • Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
    • Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  2. Payment Processing:
    • Handle electronic fund transfers (EFT), checks, and other payment methods.
    • Ensure payments comply with company policies and contractual terms.
  3. Reconciliations:
    • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledger and general ledger.
    • Monitor and maintain accurate aging of accounts payable.
  4. Expense Reporting & Cost Management:
    • Manage and review employee expense claims for compliance.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvement measures.
  5. Compliance & Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and other local laws.
    • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of AP reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).
    • Professional certifications like CPA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
  2. Experience:
    • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related role.
    • Prior experience in the UAE or GCC market is a plus but not mandatory.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong understanding of AP processes, accounting principles, and VAT regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tally) and MS Excel.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Other Preferences:
    • Open to candidates based outside the UAE who are willing to relocate.
    • Familiarity with international financial practices is desirable.
