Financial Controller

Location: Mumbai, India

We are looking for a skilled Financial Controller to join our dynamic and fast-growing hospitality startup in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 7-10 years of post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to business planning, budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop and oversee the financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process.
  • Provide financial reports to stakeholders, including management, investors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Accounts Payable and Receivables:
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Implement and maintain efficient processes for accounts receivable collections.
• Process Improvements:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
  • Streamline accounting and financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
• Business Partnering:
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and growth initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business strategies.
  • Assist in evaluating new business opportunities and investments.
  • Support the development and implementation of business plans.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Experience: 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant role.
• Industry Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in the hospitality or retail industries.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivable management.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
