Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced Finance Controller for a leading Agri Commodities Trading company in Nigeria. The role focuses on comprehensive financial management, including MIS preparation, fund-raising activities, accounts receivable and payable management, and coordination with auditors. Candidates with a strong understanding of Nigeria’s import business landscape and experience in the Agri Commodities sector will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Planning and Reporting
    • Develop and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) for detailed financial insights.
    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
  2. Fundraising and Financial Oversight
    • Lead efforts in raising funds for business operations and expansion.
    • Manage cash flows to ensure the company meets its operational requirements.
  3. Accounts Management
    • Supervise accounts receivable and payable processes for efficient financial transactions.
    • Ensure timely payments to external parties, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  4. Audit Coordination
    • Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
    • Address audit findings and implement corrective measures where necessary.
  5. Import Business Operations
    • Leverage a deep understanding of Nigeria’s import business processes to streamline financial operations related to imports.
    • Monitor and manage financial risks associated with international trade.
  6. Technology Integration
    • Utilize MS Dynamics or similar ERP systems to enhance financial management processes.
    • Drive digitalization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in financial management roles, particularly in the Agri Commodities Trading sector.
    • Hands-on experience with Nigerian import business operations is a must.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Dynamics or similar financial systems is an added advantage.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
