A renowned service provider in Oman’s oil and gas sector, with over two decades of expertise supplying high-quality mechanical and instrumentation equipment to oil fields, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller. This role is critical to maintaining the company’s financial health and driving long-term growth.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the organization’s financial operations and strategy. This includes preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and implementing financial policies that align with the company’s long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Lead financial planning and analysis by evaluating performance metrics and managing risks.
    • Develop and execute fundraising strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
    • Provide financial advice and insights to the CEO and MD.
  • Financial Operations and Oversight:
    • Monitor financial status and address challenges proactively.
    • Manage financial IT systems, including SAP or equivalent software.
    • Supervise finance and accounting personnel, ensuring alignment with company targets.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Oversee audits and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to financial laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Conduct financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Investment and Budget Management:
    • Evaluate and make informed investment decisions to strengthen the company’s portfolio.
    • Prepare, monitor, and adjust budgets to align with long-term objectives.
    • Translate financial models into actionable plans.
  • Reporting and Forecasting:
    • Prepare comprehensive quarterly and annual financial reports.
    • Conduct financial forecasts and provide insights for senior leadership.
    • Develop trend analysis reports to monitor and enhance investment performance.
  • Stakeholder and Partner Relations:
    • Manage relationships with financial partners, including banks and investors.
    • Represent the company in high-level financial discussions.

Candidate Specifications

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Finance or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are essential.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including managerial roles.
    • Knowledge of the oil and gas sector, financial project management, or GCC banking is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in corporate finance, financial analysis, and forecasting.
    • Expertise in MS Office and financial software (e.g., SAP).
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment:
    • A minimum two-year commitment is required.
