Key Responsibilities:
As a Financial Controller, you will:
- Financial Leadership:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations of the organization across East Africa.
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and risk management practices.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and long-term forecasts.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on financial planning and performance.
- Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international accounting standards.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the team.
- Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and control capital expenditure in line with approved budgets.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in a Financial Controller role, preferably within a multinational or large organization.
- Strong exposure to East African markets is a significant advantage.
- Skills:
- Expertise in financial management, reporting, and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
