Key Responsibilities:

As a Financial Controller, you will:

  1. Financial Leadership:
    • Oversee and manage the financial operations of the organization across East Africa.
    • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and risk management practices.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and long-term forecasts.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on financial planning and performance.
  3. Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
    • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  4. Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international accounting standards.
  5. Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the team.
  6. Cost Optimization:
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
    • Monitor and control capital expenditure in line with approved budgets.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
  • Experience:
    • 8-10 years of experience in a Financial Controller role, preferably within a multinational or large organization.
    • Strong exposure to East African markets is a significant advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in financial management, reporting, and compliance.
    • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
