About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Prepare and Analyze Financial Statements:
- Oversee the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage General Ledger:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
- Oversee journal entries and adjustments as part of month-end and year-end processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with management to create budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost control and revenue growth.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local laws.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory reports.
- Internal Controls and Audits:
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership:
- Guide and train junior accounting staff.
- Review the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies.
- Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial data and reports to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
- Assist in special projects, mergers, or acquisitions as needed.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar tools).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead a team.
