Job Description: Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO)
Location: Mumbai, India
Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary financial leader to join our organization as the Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO). The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy of the group, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and driving sustainable growth. This is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO/Board of Directors, and will require strong expertise in strategic planning, financial operations, fundraising, and regulatory compliance.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the group’s short-term and long-term goals.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management based on financial analysis and projections.
- Lead the development of the organization’s annual financial plan, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Drive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including financial due diligence and integration.
Financial Operations
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure operational efficiency and financial stability.
- Oversee financial reporting and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor robust financial systems, processes, and internal controls across the organization.
Treasury, Fundraising, and Investor Relations
- Lead treasury operations, including optimizing capital structure and managing financial risks.
- Spearhead fundraising initiatives, engaging with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and financial partners.
- Prepare and present financial reports, investment proposals, and business updates to investors and the board.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements, including tax compliance and corporate governance standards.
- Oversee legal, secretarial, and statutory compliance for all entities within the group.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the organization’s assets and reputation.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams to enhance their capabilities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the finance function.
- Act as a key business partner to other departments, providing financial insights and support for decision-making.
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning, analysis, and management.
- Expertise in treasury operations, capital markets, and large-scale project financing.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, fundraising, and investor relations.
- Solid understanding of tax regulations, compliance, and corporate governance.
- Demonstrated experience in legal, secretarial, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in managing complex financial systems and processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex financial challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance (preferred).
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years as CFO or equivalent in a large organization.
