Job Description – GST Compliance Role for Semi-Qualified CA

Location: Mumbai

Position: GST Compliance Role
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in GST-related roles
Qualifications: Semi-Qualified CA (final level or equivalent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • GST Compliance Management:
    Handle all aspects of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance for the organization. This includes filing GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.), reconciling accounts, and ensuring all statutory requirements are met within deadlines.
  • GST Audit & Assessments:
    Oversee the preparation and coordination of GST audits and assessments, ensuring that GST filings are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant laws. Liaise with the authorities on GST-related assessments and audits.
  • GST Documentation:
    Maintain accurate GST records, including purchase, sales, and GST input/output data. Ensure proper documentation for all business transactions subject to GST.
  • GST Refunds & Claims:
    Review and process GST refund applications, ensuring accuracy in claims. Address any discrepancies or issues raised by tax authorities regarding refunds.
  • GST Advisory & Support:
    Provide advisory services to internal stakeholders on GST matters, including tax planning, structuring, and strategic decisions related to GST. Keep the organization updated on any changes in GST laws and compliance requirements.
  • GST Reconciliation:
    Reconcile GST data from various departments and systems, ensuring consistency in the tax filings. Conduct regular checks to identify discrepancies or errors in the GST reports.
  • Regulatory Filings:
    Ensure timely and accurate filing of all GST-related documents and forms with the authorities. Assist in responding to notices, clarifications, or audits from the GST department.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: Semi-qualified CA (final level or equivalent) with a solid understanding of GST regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in GST compliance, with hands-on experience in GST returns, audits, and assessments, preferably in a corporate or broking environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GST software tools and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Familiarity with Tally or other accounting software is beneficial.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies or errors in GST filings and resolve issues quickly.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with regulatory authorities and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex GST-related issues independently.
